Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating to the proceedings of the 5th Respondent herein, vide reply/Letter R.C.No.6242/2016/P.E.3-6 dated 27.10.2016 and quash the same and consequently, to direct the 5th Respondent to allot the seat of President of Gudalur village Panchayat in Chetpet Panchayat Union, Polur Taluk in Tiruvannamalai district to "Scheduled Caste-General" for the forthcoming local body election in accordance with law within a reasonable period to be fixed by this Court. ORDER
This writ petition has been filed in the nature of certiorarified mandamus seeking records of the 5th respondent, District Collector, Thiruvannamalai District, dated 27.10.2016 and to quash the same and to direct the 5th respondent to allot the
seat of President of Gudalur Village Panchayat in Chetpet Panchayat Union, Polur Taluk in Tiruvannamalai District to "Scheduled Caste-General" for the local body elections which were to be held in the year 2016. 2.Let me not enter into any discussion on the merits or the credentials of the petitioner. The elections have been completed. If in the future elections, if the petitioner seeks similar relief he is always at liberty to file a fresh writ petition. Since the direction in that regard is given, this writ petition stands disposed of. No Costs.
