The claim of the writ petitioner for re-employment was rejected on the ground that the petitioner resigned his course.

2. The petitioner was initially appointed as a Salesman in the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC). In order to contest the panchayat elections, the petitioner resigned the job. After few years again the petitioner submitted an application for re-employment. The said application was rejected.

3. This Court cannot direct the authorities to re-employ the petitioner, since the petitioner had resigned the post in order to contest the panchayat election. If at all the petitioner wants to secure employment, he has to participate in the process of selection in the manner known to law.

4. Thus, the directions as such sought for to provide re-employment is not entertainable and consequently, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs.
