ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st respondent to conduct an enquiry in regard to the appeal filed by the petitioner on 28.10.2021 against the order of the 2nd respondent dated 28.09.2021 pertaining to the renewal of the gun license of the petitioner.
2. Mr.M.Rajendiran, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. In view of the consent expressed by the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that he was granted SBBL Gun License for self protection. On expiry of the same, he has applied for renewal, however the same was rejected by the 2nd respondent on 28.09.2021 in Na.Ka.No.18771/2019/C4. Aggrieved by the order of the 2nd respondent, the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the 1st respondent on 28.10.2021, which has been pending for almost three years Page No.2 of 6
and no order has been passed till date. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this writ petition before this Court for appropriate orders.

Though very many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court, issues a direction to the 1st respondent to conduct an enquiry in the appeal filed by the petitioner, dated 28.10.2021 and dispose of the same, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 1st respondent to consider the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 28.10.2021 and dispose of the same, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner and aggrieved persons, if any. 6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
