Prayer Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to update the computerized Field Measurement Book (FMB) in respect of the petitioner's property comprised in Survey No.443/3 Payanur Village, Thiruporur Taluk, Chengapattu District and to measure the property and fix boundaries on all four sides, as requested by the petitioner in her representation letter dated 17.07.2025.

Order Heard Mr.T.V.Suresh Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents. With consent, the main Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

The prayer in this Writ Petition is for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to update the computerized Field Measurement Book (FMB) in respect of the petitioner's property comprised in Survey No.443/3 Payanur Village, Thiruporur Taluk, Chengapattu District and to measure the property and fix boundaries on all four sides, as requested by the petitioner in her representation letter dated 17.07.2025.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner and her sister are the owners of the land (morefully described in para No.2 of this order) by virtue of a settlement deed dated 19.02.2025 2/6
executed by their mother in their favour; that the second respondent though issued patta in their names, however, failed to update the corresponding Field Measurement Book, due to which, the petitioners are unable to fix the boundaries of the said property, hence, the petitioner applied for a land survey; that though the Surveyor measured the property, he was unable to fix the boundaries due to FMB sketch not being updated, hence, the petitioner made a representation dated 17.07.2025 to the second respondent requesting for updation of the computerized FMB and fix boundaries on the petitioner's property, however, as on date, no action has been taken by the second respondent with regard to such representation, which necessitated the petitioners to approach this Court by way of present Writ Petition seeking for aforesaid relief.
4. Learned Special Government Pleader for respondents fairly submitted that the prayer sought for by the petitioner would be considered and appropriate steps would be taken by the respondent-Authorities within the time as stipulated by this Court.

Considering the limited scope of the prayer, sought for, in this Writ Petition and in view of the submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 17.07.2025 and take suitable steps for updation of the computerized FMB Sketch and measure the property and fix boundaries after giving notice to all the interested parties, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is needless to say, in the event, any obstruction is being caused by any third parties, the respondents are at liberty to seek the assistance of the Police Officials, in which case, the concerned Jurisdictional Police is directed to render all possible assistance, as required, by the Revenue Officials for demarcation of the subject property. No costs.
