By consent of both the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as respondents, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

2. The writ petition is filed challenging the order passed by the 2nd respondent dated 31.05.2024 and the consequential order passed by the 1st respondent dated 08.06.2024 with regard to the Vaikasi Pongal Thiruvizha in the year 2024.

3. A perusal of the impugned order would suggest that Vaikasi Pongal Thiruvizha of the year 2024 was slated to be held on 12.06.2024. With regard to the celebration of the said festival, the peace committee meeting was conducted on 31.05.2024 and certain decisions were taken to conduct the festival under the supervision of HR & CE Department and the police. A consequential order was passed by the 1st respondent based on decision taken in peace committee meeting.

4. When the writ petition is taken up for hearing, there is no representation for the petitioner.

Mr.S.Balamurugan, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents 1 and 2, based on the written instructions, submits that "Vaikasi Pongal Thiruvizha" was conducted peacefully on 12.06.2024 under the supervision of HR & CE department and the police department as per the impugned order.

6. In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate for the respondents that function was already over, nothing survives for further adjudication in the writ petition. Accordingly, the same is dismissed. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
