O R D E R

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 20(b)(ii)(C) of NDPS Act, 1985 in Crime No. 200 of 2025, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that based on the secret information, the respondent police went to the scene of occurrence and found that the petitioner along with other accused persons were found in illegal transportation of 26 kgs of ganja in a lorry bearing registration No.TN 50 BX 0006. Hence the case.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case based on the confession statement of A1. He also submits that petitioner is the owner of the vehicle and he has only arranged the driver for A1 without knowing the intention of the 1st accused. He also submits that the petitioner is ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court and ready to furnish sufficient solvent sureties for his release. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) for the respondent police, reiterated the prosecution case and submits that petitioner/A3 is the master mind behind the transportation of 303 kgs of ganja from the State of Andra Pradesh in collusion with Sri Lankan drug peddlers. Hence, he strongly opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, nature of allegations, submissions made by learned counsels on either side, considering the serious allegation of 303 kgs of ganja being transported which is of commercial quantity and this petitioner being shown as the identified master mind, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 16.09.2025 nr To 1.The Judicial Magistrate No.I, Karaikal.
