ORDER

By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Mrs. S. Mythreye Chandru, learned Special Government Pleader (Education) takes notice for the respondents 1 to 4 and Mr.T. Ravikumar, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the 5th respondent.

2. The relief sought for in this writ petition is a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.07.2025.

3. It is stated by the petitioner that he joined as Secondary Grade School Teacher on 28.09.1966 and subsequently, on attaining the age of 2/6

superannuation, he retired from service on 31.01.1999. Subsequent to his retirement, he submitted a representation to the respondents on 26.09.1998 seeking for arrears of increment of salary and other monetary benefits to the him, which was not considered and at that point of time, he approached the Tamil Nadu State Administrative Tribunal vide Ref in O.A. No.2287 of 1999. It is his grievance that though orders were passed by the Tribunal on 09.04.1999 itself in the said O.A., directing the respondents to consider the request of the petitioner, within a period of twelve weeks, the respondents failed to take any steps with regard to the same. While that being so, he sent a representation to the respondents on 15.07.

2025 seeking for grant of selection grade and special grade pay as per the V Pay Commission as well as to settle other monetary benefits due to him from the date of his appointment i.e., on 28.09.1966. However, the said representation dated 15.07.2025 was also not considered by the respondents. Under such circumstances, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing this writ petition.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit despite several representations, the petitioner has been made to run from pillar to post for the settlement of his dues, albeit the fact that he is an octogenerian. Hence, it would suffice, if a direction is issued by this Court to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 15.07.2025 in the light of orders 3/6

passed by the Tribunal in O.A. No.2287 of 1999, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 would fairly submits that the aforesaid representation of the petitioner will be considered by the respondents and accordingly, directions may be issued by this Court.

6. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

7. In view of the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 15.07.2025 in the light of orders passed by the Tribunal in O.A. No.2287 of 1999 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

8. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
