ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu.W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025.

2. This case is registered for alleged offences under Section 153A(1)(a) and 505(2) of Indian Penal Code, 1860. The allegation in this case is that the accused in a TV interview made false and provocative statements against the Page No.1 of 3

Hindu Makkal Katchi founder Arjun Sampath. It is stated that there is no previous or subsequent case as against the accused and she has been attending the Court proceedings regularly.

3. Considering the nature of the allegations, the antecedents of the accused and the fact that the accused has been facing trial proceedings since 2022, any further continuation of the case would impinge upon the accused's right to a speedy trial.

4. Accordingly, the case in C.C.No.32 of 2024 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.V, Coimbatore Taluk, Coimbatore shall stand quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case stand disposed of.

15.09.2025 nsl electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
