ORDER
The petitioner acquired the property measuring an extent of 15 cents in S.No.456/14, Keelmampattu Village, Panruti Taluk, Cuddalore District by way of a gift deed 05.3.2012 executed by his father and registered as doc.No.449 of 2012 on the file of the Sub-Registrar, Kadampuliyur. He is in possession and enjoyment of the said property 1/3
from the date, on which, the gift deed was executed.

Subsequently, the petitioner made an online application on 16.10.2023 to the respondent for subdivision of the said property and for the issuance of separate patta on the basis of the gift deed executed by his father. Though over a year passed since the submission of the online application, the respondent has not moved a little finger to effect survey and subdivision of the said property and to issue patta. Aggrieved by that, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate accepting notice for the respondent.
4. Taking note of the fact that the respondent has failed to discharge his statutory duty within a time frame, the writ petition is allowed and a Mandamus is issued to the respondent to dispose of the petitioner's online application dated 16.10.2023 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
