Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to implement the policy decision of promoting dissemination of legal knowledge in Tamil and consequent direction to the respondents to restore the order of subscribing to 4000 copies of Sattakadir Tamil Law Journal every year from 2017 for distribution to all the subordinate courts, law department, sub-ordinate authorities public libraries and others.

O R D E R

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, subsequently W.P.No.12104 of 2022 was filed by the petitioner challenging the G.O.(1D).No.49, School Education (Public Liabries) Department dated 04/03/2022 issued by the 2nd respondent and for a consequential direction to the 2nd respondent to reconstitute the committee to include law Tamil Development and Higher Education, thereby including Satta Kadir Tamil Monthly Law Journal in the scheme for selecting Books and Journals and the same is pending for adjudication. Therefore, this Writ 2/4

petition may be closed with a liberty to the petitioner to canvass all its grounds in the above said pending Writ petition.

2. In view of the above, this Writ petition stands closed with a liberty as sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner. No costs. In view of the above order being passed in this Writ petition, no further order is necessary in WMP.No.37772 of 2017 filed seeking to delete the name of the 1st respondent and thereby, the said miscellaneous petition is closed. 09.08.2024 skt NCC : Yes/ No Speaking Order : Yes/ No Index : Yes/ No To 1.
