The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 309 of IPC @ 174(3) Cr.PC @ 294(b), 306 of IPC r/w 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Women Harassment Act in Cr.No.75 of 2022, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the defacto complainant got married to one Kumar in the year 2019, thereafter she came to her mother's house for delivery and gave birth to a female child. Later, due to the unbearable abdominal pain, the defacto complainant poured herself kerosene on her and set fire to herself and on hearing the scream neighbours took her to the hospital. Hence the complaint.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence prays for grant of anticipatory bail.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that the case is under investigation, hence, he opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the gravity of offence committed by the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
