By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2.This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Mandamus, to direct the respondents to consider the representation dated 12.02.2025 of the petitioner with regard to granting of monetary benefits of fixation of pay w.e.f. 01.08.2008 consequent on his being placed in regular time scale of pay in the post of Lecturer in the Institute of Co-operative Management from 01.08.2008 and dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law. 3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents and perused the materials

available on record.

The case of the petitioner is that he was initially appointed as Lecturer on 21.12.2000 temporarily on daily wage basis in the Institute of Co-operative Management, Sivagangai under the control and supervision of the second respondent. The first respondent, vide his letter dated 21.08.2008, has instructed the Additional Registrars/Joint Registrars of Co-operative Societies in the State that in the case of irregular appointments in the Co-operative Societies between 08.07.1980 and 12.03.2001, the time scale of pay shall be extended to such irregular appointees, w.e.f, 01.08.2008, subject to certain conditions enumerated therein. Since the time scale of pay was not extended to the petitioner and other two similarly placed persons, they have jointly submitted a representation dated 23.04.2018 to the respondents.

Since no response was forthcoming, they filed W.P.No.15544 of 2018 before this Court. This Court, while disposing of the said Writ Petition by order dated 27.06.2018, directed the respondents to consider the representation dated 23.04.

Pursuant to the same, the second respondent issued orders dated 28.02.2019, bringing the petitioner and two others into the time scale of pay of Rs.5600-200-7600-250-11100-300-12000 applicable to Clerks with effect from 01.08.2008 notionally and monetary benefits from 01.08.2018 only. Thereafter, the petitioner filed another Writ Petition in W.P.(MD) No.10917 of 2020, praying for fixation of pay in the scale of pay of Rs.9000-15500 applicable to the post of Lecturers. Later, the 2 nd respondent issued proceedings dated 22.11.2024 bringing the petitioner and two others in the scale of pay of Rs.9000-15500 with effect from 01.08.2008 notionally and with monetary benefits from 01.12.204 onwards. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has made a representation dated 12.02.2025 to the 2 nd respondent, claiming to grant monetary benefits with effect from 01.08.2008 onwards and disburse the arrears thereof. However, as no response was forthcoming, the petitioner has come forward with the present Writ Petition.

5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's

representation and pass orders therein.

6.Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation of the petitioner will be considered within a time frame as stipulated by this Court.

7.In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the case, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the second respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders, on the petitioner's representation dated 12.02.2025, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the same to the petitioner.

8. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
