This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 24.12.2022 for providing adequate police protection to save the life of the petitioner and to discharge his duties without fear as a political activist on payment of necessary charges.
2. The case of the petitioner in brief;- The petitioner is a political activist and he is in active political life for more than fifteen years as President of the Youth wing of Shivsena party. Earlier, he was provided with police escort for few days and then the same was withdrawn without any justifiable reasons. Hence, the petitioner was constrained to send a representation on 24.12.2022, seeking police protection 2/4
through RPAD as well as in person. However, there is no communication from the respondents. Hence the writ petition.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that the representation of the petitioner dated 24.12.2022 may be considered on merits and appropriate orders may be passed in accordance with law.
4. Considering the above facts and circumstances, this Court is inclined to direct the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.12.2022 and dispose of the same, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
5. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
