Prayer:Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Certiorari to call for the records of the G.O.Ms.No.590 dated 20.07.2017 on the file of the fourth respondent and quash the same only with respect to the sixth respondent by quashing the same as illegal.

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking to quash G.O.Ms.No.590, dated 20.07.2017, only in respect of the sixth respondent.

2.When the matter was taken up for consideration, the petitioner appeared as Party - In - Person and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the impugned Government Order relates to the panel for promotion to the post of Director General of Police, wherein, the name of the sixth respondent was also proposed and during the pendancy of this writ petition, the sixth respondent was promoted as Director General of Police and thereafter he retired from service and hence nothing survives for adjudication. 3.In view of the submission made by the petitioner/ Party - In - Person as well as the respondents, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
