2024-01-29Honourable Mr Justice C.V. Karthikeyan2 pages

Crl.O.P.No.27221 of 2023 Crl.O.P.No.27221 of 2023 C.V.KARTHIKEYAN.,J.

The petitioner/A6 seeks anticipatory bail in Crime No.278 of 2023 registered by the respondent police for the offences under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(B), 22(b), 25, 29(1) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

2.It is stated that totally 2.300 kgs of ganja and 207 number of Nitrovet-10 tablets had been seized from the accused persons. As a matter of fact, the total numbers of Nitrovet-10 tablets seized was 1560 numbers from the arrested accused. Some of the accused had been remanded into the judicial custody and granted bail. But, anticipatory bail is different and the quantity seized is also substantial.

3.Taking into consideration the fact that the contraband is substantial, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 29.01.2024 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 1/2
