Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant patta in favour of petitioners in respect of land of about 5679 sq.ft in T.S.No.5706 Mambalam Village, now Guindy Taluk, Door Old No.5/A-New No.14/1A, Muthurangam Salai, (also known as Police Quarters Road) T.Nagar, Chennai - 17 and consequently forbearing respondents from interfering with petitioner's peaceful possession and enjoyment of the property by evicting or in any manner.

This Writ Petition is filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to grant patta in favour of petitioners in respect of land of about 5679 sq.ft in T.S.No.5706 Mambalam Village, now Guindy Taluk, Door Old No.5/A-New No.14/1A, Muthurangam Salai, (also known as Police Quarters Road) T.Nagar, Chennai - 17 and consequently forbearing respondents from interfering with petitioner's peaceful possession and enjoyment of the property by evicting or in any manner.
2. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that an application submitted by petitioner, the third respondent directed the Revenue Inspector to inspect the subject land and the enquiry is under progress. 3.Considering the above submission, the third respondent is directed to conduct enquiry on the application submitted by petitioner for issuance of patta in respect of the land admeasuring an extent of 5679 sq.ft in T.S.No.5706 Mambalam Village, now Guindy Taluk, Door Old No.5/A-New No.14/1A, Muthurangam Salai, (also known as Police Quarters Road) T.Nagar, Chennai -17, after issuance of the notice to the petitioners and counter parties, if any and after giving an opportunity of hearing to them, pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. No costs.
