ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu.W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025. 2.The case, Cr.No.1233 of 2011 was registered for the alleged offence under Section 51 r/w 63 of Copyright Act, 1957. The occurrence is of the year 2011. The allegation in this case is that the accused was found to be in possession of pirated CD's. The accused has been facing the case from 2011. There is no subsequent previous case against the accused. Page No.1 of 3

3.Considering the nature of the allegation and the accused facing the case since 2017, further continuation of the trial would impinge upon the right to a speedy trial of the accused. Continuing with the case would serve no useful purpose.

4. Accordingly, the case in CC.No.49 of 2020 on the file of District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate Court, Madhavaram Taluk, Tiruvallur shall stand quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case stand disposed of. 23.09.2025 nsl electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
