By consent of both the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as respondents, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner herein seeks a direction to respondents to consider his representation dated 07.08.2024 seeking change of defective EB meter pertains to the petitioner's electricity service connection bearing consumer No. 164-007-341.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that she is residing at Old No.37, New o.47, Indira Gandhi Nagar, Anna Nagar, Chennai-600 040. According to the petitioner, she is only having few tube lights, ordinary bulbs, TV and a fridge in her residence. However, for a month of January 2024, she got exorbitant electricity bill of Rs.1,23,000/-.Therefore, she submitted a representation before the 1st respondent on 07.08.2024 seeking replacement of the defective meter installed in the petitioner's residence and the rectification of the bill for the relevant months. The said representation has not been considered by the respondents. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Mr.L.Jai Venkatesh, learned Standing Counsel(TNEB), who takes notice for the respondents 1 and 2, submits the competent authority to consider the representation of the petitioner is the 2nd respondent.

In view of the said submission, this Court is inclined to direct the 1st respondent to forward the representation of the petitioner dated 07.08.2024 to the 2nd respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The 2nd respondent shall consider the same and pass final orders on its' own merits after due inspection within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of representation.
