The petitioner seeks for mandamus directing the respondents to disburse the pension and other pensionary benefits admissible to the petitioner.

2. Heard both sides.

3. The petitioner was working as Village Administrative Officer and retired from service on 31.07.2017. His grievance is that, his pensionary benefits has not been given till this date. The first respondent filed a counter affidavit wherein, it is stated that the petitioner served as Village Administrative Officer and retired on 31.07.2017 and that based on the proposals forwarded by the Department viz., the second respondent, vide proceedings dated 17.05.2017, the first respondent had admitted the pensionary benefits of the petitioner through their proceedings dated 12.06.2017. It is further stated that for receiving the pension and commuted value of pension, the petitioner has to approach the Treasury Officer, Cuddalore. It is also stated by the first respondent that the petitioner has to approach the Department viz., the second respondent, the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Tahsildar, Cuddalore, who is the authority to disburse the retirement gratuity and general provident fund accumulation as well, for which authorisation has been given by the first respondent.

In view of the categorical statement made by the first respondent as stated supra, the petitioner shall approach the second respondent as well as the Treasury Officer, Cuddalore, for receiving all his retirement benefits. The second respondent is directed to take appropriate steps to disburse the retirement benefits to the petitioner without loss of further time, if there is no other legal impediment. No costs.
