PRAYER : Writ Petition filed Under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records in Appeal No.15 of 2017/D963 dated 07.08.2017 on the file of the first respondent confirming the order of the 2nd respondent in Petition No.160 of 2016 dated 21.01.2017 and to quash the same and issue direction to direct the third respondent herein to provide Electricity Service Connection to the petitioner premises No.151/2A, Camp Road, Selaiyur, Chennai-73 as per my representation dated 21.05.2016.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records in Appeal No.15 of 2017/D963 dated 07.08.2017 on the file of the first respondent confirming the order of the 2nd respondent in Petition No.160 of 2016 dated 21.01.2017 and to quash the same and consequently, to issue direction to the third respondent herein to provide Electricity Service Connection to the petitioner's premises, bearing No.151/2A, situate at Camp Road, Selaiyur, Chennai-73, as per representation, dated 21.05.2016.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing on earlier occasion, i.e 20.12.2021, this Court has passed the following order:- "When the matter is taken up for hearing today, none appeared for the petitioner.

2. The learned counsel for the respondents 1 to 3 would submit that they are ready to comply with the order passed by this Court on 01.12.2021, but the other persons related to 4th respondent are obstructing for granting three phase electricity service connection to the petitioner's property.

Hence, the learned counsel seeks for Police Protection.

3. Therefore, this Court is of the view that already 4th respondent had passed away and if any person is obstructing, they are only outsiders and they have no business to interfere with the same. In the event, there is any obstruction from the legal heirs of the 4th respondent or from any other outsiders, the Jurisdictional Police shall provide all the protection to the respondents 1 to 3 and implement the order of this Court, dated 01.12.2021.

4. Post the matter on 11.01.2022."

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that, pursuant to the aforesaid order, the respondent/TANGEDCO has provided the electricity service connection to the petitioner's property. Therefore, the grievance of the petitioner has been duly redressed and hence, nothing survives for further adjudication herein.

4. Recording the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
