Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the first respondent to forthwith release the balance retirement benefit of Rs.1,30,000/- together with interest on the entire sum of Rs.24,97,971/- for the period from 01.04.2024 to 31.12.2024, in the light of the petitioner's representation, dated 06.02.2025.

ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the first respondent to release the balance retirement benefit of Rs.1,30,000/- together with interest on the entire sum of Rs.24,97,971/- for the period from 01.04.2024 to 31.12.2024, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 06.02.2025.

2. According to the petitioner, he was appointed as Secretary of the third respondent Society and has rendered over four decades of service until his retirement on 01.04.2024. Upon retirement, he became entitled to Rs.24,97,971/- towards retirement benefits. However, only a sum of Rs.23,67,971/- has been released by the respondents and a sum of Rs.1,30,000/- has been diverted towards his loan guarantee account. In this regard, he submitted several representations, including the one, dated 06.02.2025, to the respondents, requesting to release the balance amount and pay interest for the delayed period from 01.04.2024 to 31.12.2024. However,

no action has been taken by the respondents. Therefore, he has come before this Court by way of this Writ Petition.

3. In view of the above, without going into the merits of the case, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 06.02.2025, and pass appropriate orders on merit and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4. Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. 22.09.2025 NCC :
