ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by R.SUBBIAH, J.,) The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider and pass appropriate orders

on the representation of the petitioner dated 25.11.2019 seeking permission to conduct Jallikattu on 01.01.2020 at Malathankulam Village in Ariyalur District on the occasion of "Punitha Susaippar Koil Festival" with necessary police protection.

2. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner has given representation on 25.11.2019, but the respondents have not considered the representation yet. 3.

Mr.V. Shanmuga Sundar, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that if a direction is given by this Court to consider the petitioner's representation, the same will be considered by the respondents on merits and in accordance with law, within a stipulated time.

Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, we direct the first respondent / District Collector, Ariyalur to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.11.2019 in the light of G.O.Ms.No.7, Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (AH3) dated 21.01.2017, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
