ORDER

When the matter came up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that orders had already been passed on 03.01.2025 and the amounts had been disbursed. The last instalment of the amount due, being a sum of Rs.9,61,296/- was paid by a cheque bearing No. 249879 dated 23.01.2025 which was handed over to the petitioner only today, i.e., on 24.01.2025.

The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that when he spoke to his client today (i.e.24.01.2025) this morning, the amount had not yet been received by him, therefore, he needs to get further instructions. Since the copy of the receipt signed by the petitioner has been produced and cheque number and the date are also provided, I am of the view that the same can be recorded and the contempt can be closed. However, if the information is found to be incorrect, it would be open for the learned counsel for the petitioner to mention before this Court so that the matter can be reopened.
