Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to remove the encroachments in the Government Poromboke Odai in S.No.257, Ulagankathan Village, Kallakurichi Taluk and District and restore the water body to its original position by considering the petitioner's representation dated 17.04.2023.

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.N.Manoharan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader for respondents 1 to 3.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that survey was conducted and encroachments were noticed on the waterbody at S.No.257, Ulagankathan Village, Kallakurichi Taluk and District.

3. Learned State Government Pleader, on instructions, submits that necessary steps would be initiated within eight weeks from today in accordance with law.
