ORDER

Ms.P.Aishwarya, learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of the first respondent. Since this Court is not inclined to pass any adverse order as against respondents 2 & 3, notice to respondents 2 and 3 is dispensed with. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to immediately consider and dispose of his representations dated 25.01.2025 and 01.06.2025 in the light of the government communication dated 26.05.2025 and defreeze the petitioner's savings bank Account No.104101000009447 at Indian Overseas bank, Thirukkalacherry Branch, Mayiladuthurai district, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

3.The case of the petitioner is that he is a Sculptor by profession, who 2/4

was employed in Srilanka and he has maintained a Savings Bank Account with Indian Overseas Bank, Thirukkalacheri Branch, Mayiladuthurai District, where his monthly salary was credited. Upon returning to India, he was informed that his account had been frozen by respondents 2 and 3, without any notice or reason causing severe financial hardship and preventing access to his hard-earned savings. Despite submitting representations dated 25.01.2025 and 01.06.2025 to the respondents seeking action and defreezing of the account, no steps were taken. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that this Court may issue direction to the respondents to consider the representations dated 25.01.2025 and 01.06.2025 given by the petitioner seeking action and defreezing of the account and to pass appropriate orders, within a reasonable time frame.
