Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents directing the 1 to 3 respondents to dispose of the enquiry pending on the file of the 3rd respondent in Na.Ka.No.1449/2025/A1 by taking appropriate action for cancellation of the settlement deeds dated 05.03.2024 registered as document No.3472/2024 and settlement deed No.4635/2024 dated 22.03.2024 both on the file of the SRO Guduvanchery and within a time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER
The writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents to conclude the enquiry pending on the file of the 3rd respondent by taking appropriate action for cancellation of the settlement deeds dated 05.03.2024 and 22.03.2024 registered as document Nod.3472/2024 and 4635/2024 respectively, both on the file of the SRO, Guduvanchery.
2. By consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.
3.The petitioner has four children (two sons and two daughters). The petitioner's husband, who had worked in the Corporation, died leaving behind the petitioner and her children and thereafter, on her consent, her elder son viz.,Ayyappan, was provided with an employment on compassionate ground. She had executed a settlement deed dated 05.03.2024 in favour of her two sons settling her land and house property to an extent of 1,722 sq.ft situated at No.1, Nehru Nagar, Thiruvalluvar Nagar, Kuthanoor Vollage, Kundrathur Taluk, Kanchipuram District. Thereafter, the petitioner's son had settled the said property to his wife and 2/5
left his mother. The pension received by the petitioner is not enough to meet her medical expenses and in such circumstances, she gave a complaint under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 to the respondents 1 and 2 on 27.04.2025 and 01.04.2025 respectively seeking action to restore her rights in the property. The 2nd respondent had forwarded the matter to the 3rd respondent, who had issued notice on 13.06.2025 to the petitioner's sons calling upon them to attend the enquiry on 23.06.2025, but they have not appeared. Thereafter, the petitioner had lodged a police complaint against her sons and since no action has been taken till date, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of the present writ petition.

Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record. 5.Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the second respondent had issued notice dated 19.09.2025 in Na.Ka.No.1449/2025/m1 to the petitioner and her son calling upon them for an enquiry on 08.10.2025 and that the enquiry would be completed within a reasonable time.

6.In view of the above, without going into the merits of the case, the the 2nd respondent is directed to complete the enquiry as per the notice dated 19.09.2025 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7 .The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly.
