The writ petition has been filed in the nature of a mandamus seeking a direction against the 2nd respondent to return the original driving license bearing No.DL.No.TN32Y 20050004086 to the petitioner. 2.The petitioner is a driver of Metropolitan Transport Corporation at Chennai. He was driving a bus bearing Registration No.TN-01/AN-4775 on 29.10.2024 in GST Road at Pallavaram, Chennai, he dashed against a motor cycle who unfortunately died. The 1st respondent had registered a case in FIR in Crime No.410 of 2024 under Sections 281 & 106 (1) of BNS. An FIR had been forwarded to the Judicial Magistrate Court at Tambaram. The 2nd respondent had seized the original driving license of the petitioner. 3.It is contended on behalf of respondents that a show cause notice had been issued to the petitioner on 15.11.2024.
The learned counsel for the petitioner claims that he has not yet received show cause notice. The petitioner may go over to the office of the 2nd respondent receive a fresh copy of the show cause in person sit down in the office and given an explanation and the 2nd respondent may pass orders within a period of three working days.
