ORDER
These Suo Motu Cases are dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025.
2. In all these cases, the allegation is that the accused was found to be in possession of either 55 litres or 110 litres of either Puducherry or illicit arrack. Even the very identity of the accused is in doubt. It is pleaded that inspite of best efforts summons/warrants could not be served/executed in many of the cases. The sample is also not drawn and sent for analysis. It can also be seen Page No.2 of 4
that there is no other previous or subsequent cases against all these accused and these cases alone are filed against the accused. As such no useful purpose will be served in continuing the cases and as such all these cases are quashed. These Suo Motu Transfer Cases are disposed of. 09.10.2025 grs electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned. Page No.3 of 4
