Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection to the petitioner for conducting the Sandhanakoodu Festival and Kandhuri festival of the Noor Mohammed Shah Oliyullah Dargha, Podakkudi on 19.11.2024 and 20.11.2024 in accordance with the resolution dated 28.03.2012 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 16.11.2024.

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking writ of mandamus directing directing the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection to the petitioner for conducting the Sandhanakoodu Festival and Kandhuri festival of the Noor Mohammed Shah Oliyullah Dargha, Podakkudi on 19.11.2024 and 20.11.2024 in accordance with the resolution dated 28.03.2012 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 16.11.2024. 2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that in order to conduct Sandhanakoodu Festival and Kandhuri festival of the Noor Mohammed Shah Oliyullah Dargha, Podakkudi on 19.11.2024 and 20.11.2024 the petitioner has given representation dated 16.11.2024 to the respondents. However, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the respondents have received the representation of the petitioner and the same is pending for consideration.

4. I have considered the submission of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also Pg.Nos.3/6

considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.11.2024 on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
