O R D E R

The petitioner herein apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 318, 64(2)(h), 49, 296(b), 115(2), 351(3) of BNS and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002, on the file of the respondent Police, and therefore seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The complaint indicates that the petitioner herein had illicit intimacy with the de-facto complainant and in impregnated her. Later he refused to take responsibility for the pregnancy. This has led to a quarrel and threats towards her. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the petitioner is an innocent person and has been falsely implicated in this case. Therefore, he prayed for the grant of anticipatory bail.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that the petitioner is involved in two previous grave cases and is absconding. His custodial interrogation is required to ascertain the paternity of the child. Hence, he opposed the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Heard the learned counsels on either side and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the said fact, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
