Order Heard Mr.C.Harish, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mrs.S.Indhubala, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of the respondent No.1 and Mr.K.Karthikeyan, learned Government Advocate (HR & CE) who takes notice on behalf of the respondent No.2. With consent, the main Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to pass orders on the petitioner's revision petition dated 14.08.2023 filed under Section 13 of Tamil Nadu Patta Passbook Act, 1983 within the time as stipulated by this Court.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that challenging the proceedings issued by the Thasildar, Poonamallee dated 01.12.2021, the petitioner preferred an Appeal before the Revenue Divisional Officer (R.D.O.), however, the same was dismissed by R.D.O vide proceeding dated 2/5

01.08.2023, and seeking revision of the said proceeding, the petitioner filed a Petition under Section 13 of Tamil Nadu Patta Passbook Act, 1983, since, said Revision Petition is pending as on date without any development, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking a direction for earlier disposal of the Revision Petition.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader for the first respondent fairly submitted that the petitioner's Revision Petition dated 14.08.2023 would be considered and disposed of by the first respondent in accordance with law, within the time as stipulated by this Court.

Considering the aforesaid submissions and the limited scope of the prayer, sought for by the petitioner, in this Writ Petition, this Court, without expressing any view with regard to the merits of the contentions putforth by the petitioner either in the Writ Petition or in the Revision, is of the view that, suffice it would be to direct the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's Revision in a time bound manner. 3/5

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the Revision Petition made by the petitioner dated 14.08.2023 and dispose of the same as early as possible, preferably, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.
