The Petitioners/A8 and A9, seek anticipatory bail in Crime No.08 of 2021 registered by the Respondent Police for the offences under Sections 120(b), 420, 409, 468, 471 IPC read with Sections 13(2) and 13(1)(a) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018 read with 109 IPC.
2. The learned counsel for the Petitioners stated that the Petitioners are innocent persons and they have been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the Petitioners herein.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) stated that the petitioners are accused in Spl.C.C.No.10 of 2023 pending before the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate and Special Judge for offence under Prevention of Corruption Act, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Thiruvarur. The petitioners have been shown as an absconding accused in the charge sheet filed and therefore, he strongly opposed this petition.
4. In view of the above, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners herein. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. The petitioners may examine the Rules 22 & 24 of Criminal Rules of Practice.
