O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent to file a final report in Crime No.19 of 2021 on the file of the respondent police within a stipulated period.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent/Police and perused the materials available on record.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner along with other accused persons were gathered in the public place during the Covid period. Hence, a complaint was registered in Crime No.19 of 2021 for the offence under Sections 143, 341, 269, 270 of IPC and Section 3 of Epidemic Diseases Act and Sections 134(1)(a) and 135 of Tamil Nadu Public Health Act and Sections 51(b) and 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005.

4.The occurrence took place during the Covid Period. By considering the special circumstances and also as per directions of this Court, all the F.I.R's registered during the Covid period for the said offences were quashed. The present complaint is also falls under the said category.

5. In view of the above submission, the Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. Still the petitioner is aggrieved with the same, he can work out his remedy in the manner known to law before appropriate forum. 25.11.2024 mfa Index:Yes/No Speaking Order: Yes/No To
