Prayer:Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st Respondent to consider the Petitioner's Representation dated 12.08.2025 to make entries in the Index Book based on the Compromise Decree passed in O.S.No.12 of 1983 on the file of the Sub-Court, Kancheepuram and to direct the 2nd Respondent to register the Settlement Deed to be presented by the 1/6

Mr.Stalin Abhimanyu, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st Respondent to consider the Petitioner's Representation dated 12.08.2025 to make entries in the Index Book based on the Compromise Decree passed in O.S.No.12 of 1983 on the file of the Sub-Court, Kancheepuram and to direct the 2nd Respondent to register the Settlement Deed to be presented by the petitioner.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though a compromise has been arrived at between the petitioner's mother and her sister with respect to the subject property in O.S.No.12 of 1983, entries with regard to same has not been made in the Index Book, due to which the 2nd 2/6

respondent refused to register the Settlement Deed presented by the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner made a representation to the 1st resondent on 12.08.2025 to make entries in the Index Book based on the Compromise Decree passed in O.S.No.12 of 1983 on the file of the Sub-Court, Kancheepuram . Since, no action has been taken till date, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition seeking for the aforesaid relief.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the 1st respondent would consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner, within the stipulated time fixed by this Court.

5. Heard both sides. Perused the records.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the 1st respondent to pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 12.08.2025, on merits and in accordance with law, after 3/6

giving notice to the petitioner and after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any of the interested parties, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the aforesaid directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
