Prayer Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to take action on the representation dated 23.06.2025 given by the petitioner for grant of patta in respect of property comprised in Old Survey No.27/1, Town S.No.1/1 part, Block No.8, Ward-D , Vandavasi Town Vandavasi Taluk Tiruvannamalai district within a reasonable Time as may be fixed by this Honourable court.

With consent, the main Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition seeking for the following prayer:- i) For issuance of a mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to take action on the representation dated 23.06.2025 given by the petitioner for grant of patta in respect of her property within a reasonable time as may be fixed by this Court.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's father purchased four cents of land situated at Vandavasi Town Vandavasi Village, Tiruvannamalai District vide an un-registered sale deed in the year 1996; that after the said purchase, the petitioner's family were 2/6

living in the said plot by putting up a thatched house; that during the lifetime of the petitioner's parents, many representations were made to the Thasildar for grant of patta in respect of the said property in favour of the petitioner's mother, however, no action was taken; that thereafter, both the petitioner's father and mother passed away and hence, the petitioner made a representation dated 23.06.2025 to the respondents for grant of patta in her favour, however, no action has been taken by the respondents with regard to the said representation as on date. Hence the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate for the respondents fairly submitted that the representation made by the petitioner would be considered and disposed of in accordance with law within the time, as stipulated by this Court.

5. In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate for respondents and considering the limited scope of the prayer, sought for by the petitioner, in this Writ Petition, this Court, without expressing any view with regard to the merits of the contentions putforth by 3/6

the petitioner either in the Writ Petition or in the representation, is of the view that, suffice it would be to direct the third respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioners' representation in a time bound manner.

6. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner's dated 23.06.2025 and dispose of the same as early as possible, preferably, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
