ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st respondent to forthwith consider and dispose the petitioner's representation dated 27.01.2025 and consequently direct the 1st respondent to renew the Arms License No.M/27/432/194/ Arms/SLM/DT.
2. Mrs.S.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 3 and Mr.S.Balaji, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), accepts notice on behalf of the 2nd respondent. In view of the consent expressed by the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that he is an advocate and on 31.12.2003, he was issued with Arms License, which was lastly renewed on 31.12.2018 valid untill 31.12.2021. Thereafter, he submitted an Page No.2 of 6
application for renewal of his arms license on 30.11.2018 at the office of the 1st respondent, which was forwarded for police verification on 03.12.2018. Despite completion of all formalities, police verification and multiple official acknowledgments from the office of the 1st respondent, the 1st respondent has failed to pass any final order on the renewal application of the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner has made several representations before the 1st respondent and the last of which is on 27.01.2025. Since the same was not considered till date, the petitioner has filed this writ petition before this Court for appropriate orders.

Though very many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation, dated 27.01.2025, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.
5. In view of the limited request sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the 1st respondent to consider the Page No.3 of 6
petitioner's representation dated 27.01.2025, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
