The petitioners/A4 and A7 seek bail in Crime No.201 of 2023, registered by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 302 of IPC and subsequently altered to Sections 120(B) & 302 of IPC with respect to an occurrence which took place on 05.09.2023. The 1st petitioner/A4 was remanded to custody on 30.09.2023 and the 2nd petitioner/A7 was remanded to custody on 06.10.2023.

2.It is stated that two of the accused namely A3 and A5 had been detained under Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982. There seems to be a long history of retaliation murders and there were three earlier murders. All of them took place in Tiruvarur. The deceased had shifted to Chennai and A1, A2 and A3 had come over to Chennai and are said to have committed the act of murder. 3.So far as these petitioners are concerned, A4 is the car driver, who took A1 to A3 to the spot where the deceased was murdered and A7 is the person who arranged A4. More significantly, A4 has five previous cases and A7 has 1/3

four previous cases. At this stage, since it is stated that the entire sequence retaliation murders are owing to communal clash, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 08.12.2023 ata 2/3
