Respondents PRAYER The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to issue passport to the petitioner by considering petitioner passport application in Application Reference No.(ARN) 25-1055580929 on 02.07.2025 within the time frame fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This Petition is filed to direct the 1st respondent to issue passport to the petitioner by considering petitioner's passport application in Application Reference No.(ARN) 25-1055580929 on 02.07.2025

2. According to the petitioner, the petitioner is a businessman and her son is working at abroad and settled there with his family, the petitioner intends to travel abroad to see his son. Already the petitioner had a passport and the same was missed on 13.08.2022 and for the same, the petitioner lodged a report before the police and the police issued a lost document report dated 14.11.2022. Hence in order to enable to travel abroad, the petitioner, again applied for a passport through application on 02.07.2025, however, the same has not been considered, hence seeking to consider the same, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition. 2/5

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner contended that it would suffice for this Court to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's application on merits and in accordance with law.

4. Per contra, the learned counsel appearing for the 1 st respondent as well as the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the 2 nd respondent would contend that sufficient time may be granted to consider the representation of the petitioner.

5. In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court hereby directs the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's Passport Application in Application Reference No.(ARN) 25-1055580929 dated 02.07.2025 on merits and pass appropriate orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order.
