PRAYER: Civil Revision Petition filed under Article 227 of the Constitution of India for a direction to the Learned Principal District Judge, Kancheepuram District at Chengalpattu to dispose the above suit in OS No.7 of 2016, as expeditiously as possible, within the time stipulated. The civil revision petition is filed for a direction to the Learned Principal District Judge, Kancheepuram District at Chengalpattu to dispose the above suit in OS No.7 of 2016, as expeditiously as possible, within the time stipulated.
2. The petitioner is the plaintiff and respondents are defendants in OS No.7 of 2016 on the file of the Learned Principal District Judge, Kancheepuram District at Chengalpattu. The petitioner/plaintiff has filed the said suit for specific performance. According to the petitioner, the suit is pending from the year 2016. The trail court has posted the matter on 09.02.2024 for issues. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present civil revision petition for a direction to the trial court to dispose of the said suit within a time frame.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the case is pending from 2016. Hence, he seeks for a direction to the trial court to dispose of the said suit.
4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials available on record.
5. Further, pursuant to the direction of this Court, the Registry, on verification through e-filing, has reported that the total pendency of the Learned Principal District Judge, Kancheepuram District at Chengalpattu is 1260 cases.
6. Considering the nature of the proceedings and also the total pendency of the cases, the Learned Principal District Judge, Kancheepuram District at Chengalpattu is directed to dispose of OS No.7 of 2016, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, the Civil Revision Petition is allowed. There shall be no order as to costs.
