The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Sections 120(b), 420, 409, 468, 471 IPC and Section 13(2) r/w. 13(1)(a) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018 in F.I.R.No.08/2021.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner stated that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) stated that the petitioner is an accused in Spl.C.C.No.10/2023 pending before the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate and Special Judge for offence under Prevention of Corruption Act, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Thiruvarur. The petitioner has been shown as an absconding accused in the charge sheet filed and therefore, this petition may be dismissed. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

4. In view of the above, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner herein. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. The petitioner may examine Rules 22 & 24 of Criminal Rules of Practice.
