Prayer in both Writ Petitions.: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant renewal of the license to sell the departmental forms at the sales counter in the premises of the third respondent herein to the petitioners for a further period of five years with effect from 13.12.2003. in both Writ Petitions COMMON ORDER The prayer sought for in these Writ Petitions is for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant renewal of the license to sell the departmental forms at the sales counter in the premises of the 3rd respondent, to the petitioners for a further period of five years with effect from 13.12.2003. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2.It is the case of the petitioners that the petitioners have already been permitted to sell the Forms in front of the office of the 3rd respondent i.e., The Regional Transport Officer, Chennai (South) and they wanted to renew such license for the next five years with effect from 13.12.2003. 3.I have heard Mrs.A.L.Ganthimathi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr.M.Elumalai, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents. Since the very prayer sought for in this Writ petition is for a Writ of Mandamus only for a direction to the respondents to renew license already held by the petitioners for a further period of five years with effect from 13.12.2003, admittedly, the said five years period was over on 13.12.2008 itself, effectively nothing survives for further adjudication in these Writ Petitions. Hence, these Writ Petitions are dismissed as no further adjudication is required. No costs.
