Respondents PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the 1 st and 2 nd respondents to produce Thiru P.Meganathan, aged about 35 years, who is the Son of the Petitioner before this Court and set him at liberty.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH J.) When the petitioner's son, namely P.Meganathan, aged about 35 years, had gone missing, he had lodged a complaint on 31.10.2024 before the respondent Police and the same was yet to be registered. Since the petitioner's son could not be traced within a reasonable time, he has filed the present Habeas Corpus Petition.

2. Today, when the matter was called, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner's complaint was registered in F.I.R. No.791 of 2024 on 31.10.2024 as 'man missing' and that the respondent Police are conducting investigation to locate the petitioner's son.

3. Since the petitioner's complaint is in the process of investigation, we deem it fit that the respondents could be directed to expedite the investigation and file a final report.

4. In view of the above, the prayer sought for in the present Habeas Corpus Petition does not require consideration. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the respondents herein, to expedite the investigation and file a final report, as expeditiously as possible.

5. With the above direction, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. No costs.
