ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.I.Rajendran, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader for the respondents.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that there is no burial ground and crematorium for the people of Sandakaran Pudur at Kamaraj Nagar, Thenutruvaari, Periyar Nagar Villages. The nearest burial ground and crematorium are situated 4 kms away.

3. Learned State Government Pleader submits that earlier, one land was sought to be provided for burial ground, but the same is under litigation.

4. The petitioner has filed an application to provide burial ground and crematorium. The authority may take a decision on the said application, on its own merits and in accordance with law, preferably within a period of nine months from today.

5. In the light of that, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
