O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to file charge sheet in Crime No.3 of 2018 on the file of the respondent.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that a case has been registered against him and another person under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act on 07.02.2018 by the respondent police and the same has been registered in Crime No.3 of 2018. The learned counsel further submitted that though the case was registered against him during February 2018, no further investigation except arresting the accused. The petitioner is ready to face the trial as the same is a foisted one with personal motive. The trap proceedings are also in favour of him and he has not received any bribe from anybody as alleged by the prosecution. The prosecution has not filed a charge sheet with an intention to drag the proceedings. They have kept the case pending without any enquiry or progress. Hence, the petitioner has sought for the aforesaid relief. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that a crime has been registered in Crime No.3 of 2018 for the offences https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

under Sections 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The petitioner had demanded and received bribe from the lorry and tractor owners by way of threatening them. Therefore, he prayed for dismissal of this quash petition.

4.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor. Perused the materials available on record.

5.However, considering the above facts, the respondent police is hereby directed to complete the investigation and file a charge sheet before the concerned Magistrate within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 6.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
