PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to dispose petitioners representation dated 31.10.2023 in accordance with law and pass orders.

There is no representation for the Respondent. However, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 1/4

2. This petition is filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to dispose petitioners representation dated 31.10.2023 in accordance with law and pass orders.

3. The facts of the case is that the petitioners who are contract workers to dig the mud and cleaning the sand and sewerage was attacked by one Selvam, hence a criminal complaint was also lodged in this regard. However, the petitioner obtained Anticipatory bail. The grievance of the petitioners are that due to the criminal complaint was registered against them, the respondent is refusing to provide employment to them. Hence, the petitioners gave representation to the respondent on 31.10.2023. However, there is no progress in the said representation. Hence, this petition.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that it would be suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondent to consider petitioners representation dated 31.10.2023 and pass orders. 2/4

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the petitioners representation dated 31.10.2023 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above observations this writ petition stands disposed of. No order as to costs.
