ORDER

Mr.Yogesh Kannadsan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the 1st respondent and Ms.S. Pavithra, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondents 2 and 3.

By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The relief sought for in this writ petition is a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.08.2025, seeking permanent allotment of an alternative job on light duty, in view of his medical condition.

3. It is stated that the petitioner joined the services of the respondent Corporation on 25.03.1997 and has been discharging his duties as a Driver for 2/5

the past 28 years. The petitioner is stated to be suffering from leukemia (blood cancer), which is a permanent and progressive illness. On account of his medical condition, he submitted a representation dated 01.08.2025, requesting that he be given a light duty on a permanent basis. However, the said representation has not been considered by the respondents, till date. Under such circumstances, this writ petition has been filed with the aforesaid prayer.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if a direction is issued by this Court to the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.08.2025, taking into account the petitioner's health condition, within a short time frame.

5. Acceding to the said submission, Ms.S. Pavithra, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 1 and 2, submitted that appropriate directions may be issued by this Court.

In view of the limited scope of the prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and the submission made by the learned Standing Counsel for respondents 2 and 3, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.08.2025 seeking allotment of alternative light duty, and pass appropriate 3/5

orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the aforesaid directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
