This criminal original petition has been filed seeking to call for the records in Crime No.8 of 2019 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Villupuram and Anti Corruption, Villupuram District and quash the same.

2. Though very many grounds have been raised in the writ petition, however, when the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the 1st respondent to expedite the investigation and complete the same as early as possible. He further submits that the appearance of the petitioner before the 1st respondent may be dispensed with and further submits that the petitioner would appear before the 1st respondent as and when necessary.

3. On the above contention, this Court heard the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent, who fairly concedes to the request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner.

4. In view of the above, this criminal original petition is disposed of directing the 1st respondent to expedite the investigation in Crime No.8 of 2019 and complete the same as early as possible. The appearance of the petitioner before the 1st respondent is dispensed with. However, the 1st respondent, for the purpose of expediting the investigation, is at liberty to seek the presence of the petitioner and as and when necessary and in such circumstances, the petitioner shall appear before the 1st respondent without fail as and when called for.

5. With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
