The petitioner, who apprehend arrest by the respondent police in connection with Crime No.799 of 2025, for offences punishable under Section 4(1)(B) of TNP (Amendment) Act, 2024, seeks anticipatory bail. 1/4

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that he, along with other accused, transported 305 bottles (180 ml each) of Pondy Arrack without a proper license. Hence, the present case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is innocent and has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prayed for the grant of anticipatory bail.

4. Per contra, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that the petitioner is the owner of the contraband (ranked as A1) and engaged the other accused for transporting the same. He further submitted that the petitioner has nine previous cases. Therefore, he opposed the grant of anticipatory bail.

5. Heard the learned counsel on both sides and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the nature of the offence and bad antecedent of petitioner, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 19.09.2025 nvi 2/4
