This writ petition has been filed, directing the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.01.2025 for grant of allotment order/permission to provide Arasu Cable TV connections to the residents of Moorthinagar Project Area-II,Vyasarpadi.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is a Local Cable Operator, carrying on business under the name of Mass Cable Network at Vyasarpadi, Chennai, and is enrolled with the Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation Limited. The 2nd respondent, vide its proceedings dated 22.07.2022, directed the residents of TNUHDB buildings be provided cable TV connections and delegated the power of granting licence/approval to the respective Zonal Executive Engineers. Pursuant to the said notifications, the petitioner submitted a representation on 06.01.2025 to the 3rd respondent,seeking permission to provide Arasu Cable TV connections to the
residents of Moorthinagar Project Area-II, Vyasarpadi, which comprises 972 dwelling houses with about 648 families presently residing. Despite reminders and submission of all supporting documents, the said representation has not ben considered. Hence the present writ petition is filed. .
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation within a reasonable time.
4. The learned counsel appearing for the 2nd and 3rd respondents would submit that they will consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate orders within a reasonable time as fixed by this Court.
5. In view of the above, without going into the merits of the case, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.01.2025, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
