Respondent and perused the materials placed on record, apart from the pleadings of the parties.

The Petitioner claims to have made an undated representation without any proof of delivery to the Respondent seeking for recording his name as owner on transfer of the motor vehicle bearing registration no. TN-16-E-8377 in furtherance to its purchase in the auction conducted by a financier. The procedure for transfer of ownership of a motor vehicle has been provided in Sections 50 and 51 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, read with Rules 57 and 61 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, which the Petitioner has to follow for the relief claimed from the Respondent. In the absence of the Petitioner complying with the statutory requirements, it would not be possible to grant any relief as sought in the Writ Petition.

In fine, the Writ Petition is disposed with the aforesaid observations. No costs.
